The Island of Reichenau is the largest of the three Islands located in the Lake of Constance
(length 4,5km; width 1,5km). Its origin is looking back over 1300 years of settlement history.
On November 30th 2000 the Committee of the World Culture Heritage of the UNESCO has declared
the (former) "Monastery" Island of Reichenau as World Culture Heritage during its Congress in Cairns, Australia.
